Welcome to Flash Front Runners Track & Field Club™ (FFRT&FC) website. FFRT&FC was founded by retired Lt. Colonel Samuel L. Ellis and his wife, Dr. Pamela Ellis on September 27, 2016, and established March 6, 2017. It is an approved 501 © (3) non-profit organization operating in San Antonio, Texas.

Lt. Colonel Samuel L. Ellis began running track in elementary school and continued throughout high school where he earned a track scholarship, which enabled him to attend college. During his academic career he participated in Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track Seasons, all of which prepared him for the physical demands he would endure during his military career. As an officer in the Army, Lt. Colonel Ellis proudly served in a myriad of units to include Airborne, Paratrooper, Mechanized Infantry and Mechanized Armor. Lt. Colonel Ellis retired a highly decorated combat-tested Soldier with multiple combat deployments during his twenty-five years of service to the Nation. Much of his success, he attributes to the positive influence Track and Field provided in his life.

The mentorship and guidance that Lt. Colonel Ellis received from coaches throughout his life, while participating in track events, empowered him to stay focused on whatever goals and objectives he wanted to attain in his career, and to improve the positive trajectory of his life. FFRT&FC was born from his family’s desire to give back to the community. For Lt. Colonel Ellis, this was particularly important that he help young people to help them achieve their life goals, utilizing the same methods that helped him.

Boys and girls ages eight through eighteen are a prime demographic for achieving athletic excellence. Through guidance, dedication, and hard work, they are shown how to use these abilities to support their higher education goals. FFRT&FC has assembled a phenomenal team of volunteer coaches from a diverse background of cultures and professions. All coaches and staff love the sport of Track & Field and take great pleasure in witnessing our athletes’ confidence improve as they continue to get better. It is in this “village” of encouragement, dedication, mentorship, trust, respect, and drive that the next generation is guided to give their best. To be the best they can be.

The next step in their lives, begins today.
